Where is it found ?

Turmeric is obtained from the root of a plant where the active constituent is known as curcumin. The vast majority of turmeric comes from India. It is also used in curries to add colour and flavour.

What is its function ?

It is thought to have a wide range of therapeutic actions as it is a powerful anti-oxidant.

Preliminary trials have shown that curcumin may be useful in reducing inflammation.

How much is usually taken ?

Our high potency capsules contain 300 mg of 4:1 extract of turmeric, standardised to give 95% curcumin and 100mg of turmeric root. This is an amount suggested by preliminary research.
